Born from Dom’s family experience in London and rooted in her Filipino heritage, this service embodies Kapwa — the essence of shared humanity — and the tradition of kamayan. It is both a reflection of our community and an invitation for those who join us to be woven into its fabric through the simple, powerful act of sharing a meal.

In Filipino culture, Kapwa means a shared identity, or the concept of "we" rather than "I". It is a core value that signifies a sense of interconnectedness and shared humanity, emphasizing treating others with empathy, kindness, and respect as if they are part of oneself. A video on Kapwa here.

Kamayan meals symbolize community, connection, and heritage, reflecting pre-colonial Filipino culture where food was shared communally using hands. The act of eating together without utensils represents equality, simplicity, and hospitality, stripping away formality to foster intimacy and a deeper connection to the food and each other.
